With a tankless water heater, your worries about running out of hot water during a shower will be long gone. Although your home will not run out of hot water, it will still be susceptible to hard water, which can cause a limescale buildup. Flow-Tech anti-scaling system is a good countermeasure against scale buildup, but does Flow-Tech work with a tankless water heater?

For over 15 years, we’ve installed thousands of Flow-Tech devices and tankless water heaters all over Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. At Monkey Wrench Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric, we’re licensed and certified in all things Flow-Tech and tankless water heaters.

Flow-Tech anti-scaling system is compatible with tankless water heaters. By the end of this article, you’ll understand how Flow-Tech compliments tankless water heaters and which tankless brands work with the anti-scaling system.

The science behind how these two systems work with each other may seem daunting, but we’ll break it down for you! Now, let’s get started!

How Do Flow-Tech and Tankless Water Heaters Work Together?

Flow-Tech is compatible with tankless water heaters thanks to its ability to eliminate and prevent limescale building inside the tankless unit. The anti-scaling system sends a thousand low-frequency signals per second throughout a home’s water supply.

The signal causes the hard water minerals that cause scale to crystallize and stick to each other instead of hard surfaces, like the inside pipes and heat exchangers inside tankless water heaters.

The frequencies also reduce existing limescale buildup over time. Flow-Tech is highly efficient in removing scale from water heaters, and it offers a five-year warranty on heat exchangers that fail due to scale buildup.

Limescale is a chalky-white substance that forms wherever water is dispensed, such as shower heads, faucets, and tankless water heaters. When hard water is heated, it’ll evaporate, leaving scale behind.

Scale buildup can have a negative impact on tankless water heaters. The thicker the scale buildup is, the less efficient tankless water heaters and other appliances will be. Less efficient tankless water heaters are more likely to have a shorter lifespan and become more prone to failures.

A tankless water heater typically lasts 20-25 years with routine maintenance.

There’s only one brand of Flow-Tech but multiple brands of tankless water heaters. But are all tankless water heater brands compatible with Flow-Tech?
